How SilverSilk Pipe Chain is Made
Pipe Chain is crafted by knitting 32‑gauge, 99.9% copper wire (the thickness of human hair) around a 3 mm silicone tubing. This creates a strong, flexible cord with a 1.5 mm hollow core—perfect for threading leather, beading wire, or craft wire through it. The wire is permanently enameled for tarnish resistance, and the silicone remains soft yet shape-retentive. Each chain is machine-stitched by six precise latch-hook needles, delivering a consistent, cut-to-length-ready result with no fraying or unraveling.

Lapis SilverSilk Pipe Chain is made by knitting 32-gauge dark blue color wire over a 3mm matte blue silicone rubber tube to create a robust, flexible and textural knitted pipe. Easily string beading wire, leather cord, craft wire, memory wire or any stringing material, as long as it fits the 2mm diameter size limit, though Pipe Chain. This chain is packaged as a 3ft spool.

Our SilverSilk Pipe Chain end caps are custom- cast to fit our Pipe Chain. High-quality metal is plated over a brass base and then polished to perfection. These end caps measure 5mm wide (with a 3.5mm inner diameter) by 5mm long with a 1mm diameter opening. The opening hole will easily allow craft wire up to 20-gauge to string comfortably through it. Simply nudge the end cap over the Pipe Chain end for a clean, professional finish. These end caps are packaged as a pair (two end caps).
